Downtown Development Corporation

  • The DDC is a private sector, non-profit 501(c)(3) entity with the mission of furthering the health and vitality of downtown for all citizens of the community. The Board of Directors is composed of representatives of downtown organizations, groups, and businesses who are interested in the continued long-term improvement to downtown. The DDC undertakes projects which will enhance the public good, focusing on long-term planning, urban design, public education, and project development.

Louisville Metro Economic Development Department

  • This Metro agency is charged to promote the revitalization and growth of Louisville Metro by supervising and coordinating Metro Government participation in Metro-wide projects, coordinating activities of other agencies in development and redevelopment activities, and facilitating such activities, developing and implementing downtown, neighborhood, area-wide and corridor plans and policies and administering design and related standards of Louisville Metro.
    In addition,this office administers programs and services for minority and small business development including public improvements to neighborhood commercial corridors, low interest loans, and business associations.

Greater Louisville Inc., the Metro Chamber of Commerce

  • Works to develop a positive business climate for the Louisville area with programs that support expansion/ retention/creation of local businesses. Has the primary responsibility for attracting new businesses and regional marketing. Also does business lobbying and provides data and research services.

Greater Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau

  • Since 1968, the Bureau's primary goal has been to enhance the city and county's economy through tourism development in order to promote and sell Louisville as a destination for conventions, trade shows, corporate meetings and pleasure and business trade on a worldwide basis.

Waterfront Development Corporation

  • This agency was created in 1986 by an interlocal agreement between the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Jefferson County, and the City of Louisville. WDC's mission is to coordinate riverfront development in the community and oversee the redevelopment and maintenance of the waterfront for the public's enjoyment and recreation.
