LDMD Student Art Bike Project

High School art students from the Brown School, du Pont Manual, Presentation Academy and St. Francis High School were given eight old bikes each to turn into pieces of art. All 32 Art Bikes were displayed together in the lobby of The Kentucky Center the weekend of April 24-25. On Monday, April 26, the Art Bikes were placed at the LDMD Bike Rack Sculptures for three weeks. After the public display, the Art Bikes were returned to the students. The Art Bikes are on our website if you missed them.

Downtown Trolleys - FREE Beginning June 7

The Fourth Street Trolley and the Main/Market Street Trolley will be Fare Free and more frequent beginning June 7, thanks to contributions from downtown businesses and organizations. Both trolleys will run more frequently between 11 am and 6 pm. This will provide the lunch crowd and after-work shoppers who work downtown the opportunity to try new downtown venues by hopping on a trolley.

Trolley Hop

The next First Friday Trolley Hop will be October 1. Hop on down to the art scene on Main and Market Streets from 5pm-11pm. For more details, go to www.firstfridaytrolleyhop.com

Phoenix Hill Farmers Market

The Phoenix Hill Farmers’ Market will be held each Tuesday, from 3 to 6:30 p.m., from May through October, in the parking lot of Felice Vineyards LLC, 829 E. Market St.
The market features locally produced fruit, vegetables, meat, eggs, flowers plants, breads, sweets, wine and more.
Local musicians will provide music, and free parking is available on Market and Campbell streets.

Gray Street Farmers Market

The Gray Street Farmers' Market will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Thursday from May 20 through October 28, 2010. The market is located on the 400 block of E. Gray Street, between S. Preston and S. Jackson streets. Check out the wonderful vendors participating, offering lunch items, fruits, vegetables, eggs, meat, cheese, honey, bakery items, canned goods, crafts and flowers.
